Let us take care of IT

About Computeam

Computeam was formed in 1998 to deliver the National Grid for Learning initiative in Manchester on behalf of ICL (now Fujitsu) and Manchester City Council. Computeam quickly established itself as an expert provider to education and now looks after ICT for schools right across the North West. Our consultants are working at strategic level with Local Authorities engaged in Building Schools for the Future and also the emerging Primary Capital Programme. We source, supply and support a huge range of ICT options and pride ourselves on clear, jargon free communcation. Advice is always free at Computeam so no matter what your requirements are get in touch for a no obligation consultation.

Primary Capital Programme

Primary Capital Action

Computeam is due to exhibit at the Primary Capital Action conference on Thursday 9th October. This high level event arranged by GovNet is aimed at headteachers and LEA representatives, and is designed to kick-start the process of transforming our country's Primary Schools. ICT is an intrinsic part of that process and Computeam will be on hand to provide the very best guidance and advice to delegates.

If you are attending the event, please come and speak to us on stand 15. Alternatively, we'd love to hear any input you may have about the emerging Primary Capital programme, or about transforming schools through ICT in general. Just email our office at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Mobile Learning Tool

Nokia N810

Computeam has been monitoring new technologies in the handheld and mobile learning sphere for more than 18 months. Many schools will now be familiar with a variety of access devices, from ultra-portable laptops like the Asus EeePC to games platforms like the Sony PSP and some of you may even have started trialling the devices in your school. One key limitation cited by our customers is the difficulty of integrating these devices into classroom sessions with the minimum of effort for teachers.

A potential solution for integrated mobile learning has recently come to our attention in the form of Study Mobile software by Sanako, running on the innovative Nokia N810 mobile internet device (MID). We'll soon be releasing a full evaluation of the solution, so watch this space. In the meantime, have a look at the below case study from a UK primary school, or see the Sanako website here.
